INTRODUCTION
Garvin Johnson aka Scrappy Sinon is a UK-based recording artist, record producer, and dynamic Soca ambassador from Montserrat. His passion for music is astounding — the same fire that drives him to create high-energy Soca anthems blending infectious rhythms, groovy melodies, and powerful Caribbean vibes that get crowds moving from the first beat.
His first exposure to the public as a musician came when he entered the highly recognised local talent show in Montserrat, Star Search. He made history by becoming the first-ever Junior Calypso Monarch at age 11 in his very first attempt. This early success laid the foundation for a career deeply rooted in Caribbean culture.
To date, Scrappy Sinon has released 11 solo albums under his independent label JM Records, toured Europe, and built a strong following with consistent releases since his 2005 debut year as Montserrat Soca Monarch and Road March winner. Known for high-energy stage performances, he has lit up major festivals and carnivals across the UK and beyond, including electrifying appearances at Notting Hill Carnival, Nottingham Carnival, Montserrat Festival UK, and numerous other Caribbean cultural events where his music fuels the fetes and brings the island spirit to life.
Whether delivering groovy Soca, road march energy, or feel-good party anthems, Scrappy Sinon continues to champion Montserratian culture on the global stage as a proud cultural ambassador, keeping the authentic sounds of the Caribbean alive and thriving.
